Catalina Island Golf Course

Overview

Laid out in Avalon Canyon above the harbor town, this nine-hole, par-32 course traces its roots to an 1892 three-hole layout, making it one of the oldest golf sites in the western U.S.; it was expanded to 18 holes in 1929 and returned to nine holes after World War II. Short par 4s and four par 3s make it a quick, scenic round for island visitors, and it is rated 61.6/107 from the blue tees when played twice as 18 holes. Electric and pull carts are rented from the pro shop.
