Overview

The South Course is the original layout at John's Island Club, built around 1970 by Pete Dye with input from Jack Nicklaus and later renovated by Craig Schreiner. At about 6,600 yards and par 71, it is shorter than its sister courses but carries a 135 slope from the back tees. The private club sits on the barrier island in Indian River Shores, with three miles of Atlantic beachfront.
