Overview

A city-run 18-hole course beside Lake Sweetwater southeast of town, dating to the early 1930s. It plays to par 71 at just under 6,200 yards from the back tees, with a 3,015-yard front nine and a longer back nine. Golfer reviews from late 2025 say the turf is in poor condition, with bare fairways and weedy greens, so check conditions before you go.

Opened: 1932
Holes: 18
Forward tees: 5,194 yds
Greens: Bentgrass
Fairways: Bermuda

⏰ Best times to play: West Texas summers are hot and windy; early-morning tee times are the most comfortable, and spring and fall offer the best conditions.
