Overview
The Champion is the flagship course at PGA National Resort, laid out by Tom and George Fazio in 1981 and redesigned by Jack Nicklaus. It is best known for the Bear Trap, the water-guarded stretch of holes 15 through 17, and it is the annual home of the PGA Tour's Cognizant Classic (formerly the Honda Classic). The course has also hosted the 1983 Ryder Cup and the 1987 PGA Championship, and resort guests can book tee times.
