Overview

The daily-fee South Course at Shadow Hills is a par-71 desert layout by Lee Schmidt that opened in 2004 alongside the Sun City Shadow Hills community and was reworked by JMP Golf Design Group in 2017. Six tee sets stretch it from about 4,800 to 6,800 yards, with five par 3s and a long practice facility with two tee levels; Shadows Restaurant is on site.

Forward tees: 4,795 yds

⏰ Best times to play: Desert heat makes early-morning tee times best from late spring through early fall, when rates drop sharply; peak season runs roughly November-April. Expect a fall overseeding closure (typically late Sept to early Nov) followed by cart-path-only days.
