Overview
Built in the mid-1990s by the Fry family (of Fry's Electronics), The Institute operated for decades as an invitation-only course before being re-established as an ultra-private member club with fewer than 50 members. The layout climbs onto a Morgan Hill hillside and drops to flatter ground below, with lakes, creeks and large bunkers, and can stretch past 8,000 yards; caddies are mandatory. Robert Trent Jones Jr.'s team has been refining the course, and a nine-hole par-3 course called Little I was added in 2025.
