Overview
Galveston Country Club, founded in 1898, calls itself the oldest private club in Texas. Its current 18-hole course on the island's west end dates to 1947 and has been renovated several times since. It is short at 6,501 yards but carries a 138 slope from the back, with paspalum surfaces suited to the salt air. The club also offers a pool, tennis courts and dining.
