Overview

A city-owned island course near the Moody Gardens pyramids, rebuilt by Jacobsen Hardy in 2008 with salt-tolerant paspalum from tee to green. Lagoons and marsh come into play throughout, and the steady Gulf wind gives it a links-like challenge on flat ground.

Lots of waterFlat / easy walk

Designer: Carlton Gipson (1989); Peter Jacobsen & Jim Hardy (2008 redesign)
Opened: 1976
Holes: 18
Forward tees: 4,549 yds
Greens: Paspalum
Fairways: Paspalum

⏰ Best times to play: Twilight rates (1–3 pm) are the best value; island breezes pick up in the afternoon, and summer humidity makes early mornings more comfortable. City of Galveston residents pay much lower rates.
